How it works
Vision: Affordable skating rinks in every community
RinkFunder was established to help cash strapped communities quickly fund skating rinks. At RinkFunder we beleive in the power of a community coming together in a positive way to rasie money for synthetic ice community skating rink projects.
We want to make this process simple.
You fill out the application on the RinkFunder site and then we process your application. If we think your application is strong enough to proceed then we will want to call you to have a meaningful two way discussion about your project. From there we will make a formal decision to proceed or recommend that more upfront work is required.
If we decide to proceed then that's where the community fun begins. Using the strength of community contacts primarily through social media you will begin to spead the word about your project, along with our help and guidance every step of the way.
We are not trying to reinvent the wheel here - just improve it! We will use a widely proven and recognized crowdfunding website with an excellent reputation. We will link your social media activity to our crowdfunding page explaining:
The community rink project details
Who is involved
How the community benefits
The financial goal
The timing of both community crowdfunding and project completion
Details of the actual community synthetic ice skating rink (what the community will get)
How the money works (where does the donation go, how does it get spent etc.)
what happens if the funding goal is not reached
The community needs a champion
Not everyone needs to be a financial contributor to a community project such as this. Someone in the community does need to spearhead this initiative however. Maybe that is you or someone you know. Maybe you can be that someone who gets the community excited and stirred up. Maybe it’s you that starts the social media campaign to get this going for your community?
There are share tools on this site that make it easy for you to get the word out on your social media pages. Everyone knows lots of potential contributors whether they are individuals or businesses. So what are you waiting for? The sooner you get started, the sooner your community can be skating!
